Thanks for reading my website. It’s an idea I had a while ago. My new year’s reso for 2026 was to stop procrastinating and make it happen.
I want to share what I’ve learned over the years about running buildings in ways that I can’t at my job. It is a labour of love as I’m a huge nerd about buildings, particularly for lobbies, parkades, parcel rooms, wayfinding, flooring, and finishes.
As you’ve probably guessed, I’m in property management. I look after a bunch of strata properties in the Vancouver area, mostly apartments. In my position, I have to stay neutral on recommendations to owners for bylaws, rules, vendors, trades — everything.
Preferential treatment can be seen as a conflict of interest, so I need to stay clear of telling people what to do (which is hard for me). I launched this blog to free myself from constraints.
With Inside Vancouver Buildings I can be myself, talk about the stuff that drives me crazy, and be all judgey about it. But this isn’t a complainer blog, it’s an answers blog! I provide solutions!
Read on to find out what I think about safety, courtesy, and how important common areas are to every building experience. But, I am busy, so don’t expect daily posts — I’ll be lucky if I can get one article written every other week.
Enjoy!
Making Vancouver buildings just a little bit better...
